Flowers on the Cement

Hello everyone, howdy?  Yesterday was not a good day for me.  Migraine attacked and did not leave me until the evening.  I took three Excedrin before it finally went away.

The weather was a little bit warm today so our burritos take the opportunity to play outside. They used the remaining chalk to draw some stuff on the cemenbt at our back yard.
The little one helped a little bit but most of the time, he just want to erase what was drawn on the cement lol.
Ate was very serious drawing her flowers.
EJ was the assistant artist hehehe, just handing the chalk to Ate.
Hope everyone is having a lovely day!
Hope this qualifies for...

Nostalgia # 21 - Pinoy Smile

It's been a year since I experienced an urge to invite people in blogland to vote for my daughter in Pinoy Smile Contest online.  We were two days late in our campaign but in the end my daughter won because of YOU, yes all of YOU.  Thanks so much for those who really took time to   campaign in behalf of us, we greatly appreciated it!

Photobucket
The organizer of the contest is a Filipina who is residing in Canada and  working in University of British Columbia, Canada.  Here's the certificate that she sent.  The cash gift that  Rylie received went to her mutual fund.  Aain thanks to all of you who supported and voted for our daughter.

Bank Trip

We went to the bank last week to deposit some amount and while waiting for my husband, I took some pictures of my son .  He was asking me questions like "What is the bank for?"  I explained it to him then he said "I think I want to work there, it looks like fun counting money" lol.
It's amazing how kids are so attentive to their surroundings.  I think, it's just a matter of  teaching your kids some information about stuff for them to learn.
We went there today again and I asked him if he still want to work in the bank and he said "No,  I changed my mind" hahaha.  Oh boy, kids are so funny!
Hope everyone  is having a lovely start of the week!

Bayanihan

Last month, our neighbor who helped us in putting up our fence hurt his back.  My husband offered to help him in painting his house free of charge. These photos were taken on the day of my husband and I's wedding anniversary hehehe.  We all came there and helped hubby a little bit.  The kids and I love painting so we had fun.
That's our neighbor, they love kids and EJ and Rylie are their new  eye candies.
EJ tried to  climbed up the ladder to help daddy.
Here's my darling princess diligently working.
After  some painting job, of course it's time to play hehehe.
We were playing peekabo.
I never want to miss their smiles so click click click!

Rylie took shots of me too.
This kind of activity is called Bayanihan in the Philippines.

According to Wikepedia ..

Bayanihan is taken from the root word bayani meaning "hero". Thus, bayanihan means being a hero to one another. As in the classic tradition of carrying a house, each man carries a portion of the weight of the house and in effect, becomes a hero for all the others because he lightens the load for the others. Each man thus becomes a Hero to everyone as all the others become a Hero to him..

The origin of the term bayanihan can be traced from a common tradition in Philippine towns where community members volunteer to help a family move to a new place. The process involves literally carrying the house to its new location. This is done by putting bamboo poles forming a strong frame to lift the stilts from the ground and carrying the whole house with the men positioned at the ends of each pole. A mural by Filipino National Artist Carlos "Botong" Francisco illustrates the process. The tradition also features a small fiesta hosted by the family to express gratitude to the volunteers.

Let us Paint

I can't remember having an interest for arts as a child, it might be because we did not have any resources or I just don't really have that skill.  Our kids definitely  have their Dad's trait when it comes to arts like drawing, painting, sketching, etc.

But even if I don't have that talent, I have to  paint with my kids when they want me to help them.
I can see some progress with EJ now that the big sister is n school.  He can now count from 1-20, can recite the ABCs and shows interest in doing  arts.
See how  serious he is?
I just love it when both of them agree to work together.  Most of the times, they are always in disagreement with each other hahaha.
These were taken at my FIL's back porch last weekend.  While I was doing some barbecue, they decided to paint.

It's been..
