From Korea with Love

Kim Min Young  is a very special friend that  my family met  when we were living in South Korea.   She was introduced to me by someone  who work in the base   when she was looking for  someone who could teach her English.    I taught her  for several months  but then we had to leave the country.  We were all sad  because she is like a family to us already.
Her English name is Amy and she is very tall.  When she walks beside, I look like a kid. hahaha..
My kids were very fond of her.  We truly miss you Amy, I wish that we could go back and visit so we can see each other again.  I am glad that she is keeping in touch with with me.

She sent us a package  last Christmas and they are so cute.  Thank you  (Kamsa Hamnida) Amy!  The box was tore up when it arrived but  the items are all okay.  I think the custom sifted through it thoroughly.
She said that the bag is for good luck, we hang it at our front door during the new year.  She calls it fortune pouch.  Next to it is a set of coasters.  She also sent   a set of pens with a traditional Korean character on the caps, and a  a very pretty pencil case.  From the bottom of our hearts, thanks a lot Amy!
I thank God for blessing us with good  friends!

Nostalgia # 9 - Memoirs of Korea

When I woke up this morning, Korea was the first thing that popped in my mind. I suddenly miss all our adventures there. We used to walk from the base going to the wet market where you can see a lot of stuff that is interesting. I always took pictures of the random things that I saw there that's interest me.

The farmer's market there is far from the base but we loved to walk going down there as it's enjoyable and at the same you get your exercise. We never do that here, seldom you see people walking if its not for exercise purposes. Here are some photos of our last walks in the market.

I don't know why they put this sign "Welcome to Navy" because it is not an academy or something, I think it's a bar or some kind of an eating place.
Thank you so much for joining this week and for travelling with me down memory lane.

Gimhae International Airport

I missed to participate to the 52 Weeks challenge by Carin of Forever in Blue Jeans last week but now I am back. If you are up for the challenge of having a photo with your kids every week, join us by visiting Carin's page. It's fun!

These photos were taken at Gimhae International Airport in Korea when we were waiting for our flight to Japan.
Inside the plane while waiting for it to take off, had the time to take some pictures.

My share..
Rylie wanted to use my hat for pictorial hehehe.
After checking at the airport. I made the kids busy by bringing an art book and coloring pens.

Have a drink mom..

Some colorful paintings on the wall.
I spotted this Japanese guy wearing a traditional kimono.

The huge Christmas tree at the entrance of Gimhae Airport, my burritos immediately ran towards it so I gotta have a pic lol.
Have a great weekend ahead guys.

Hold my Hand Mom

This is my second week of participating to the 52 Weeks challenge by Carin of Forever in Blue Jeans. If you are up for the challenge of having a photo with your kids every week, join us by visiting Carin's page. It's fun!
These two photos were taken after we have done doing the NEO exercise here at the base. My son wanted to walk on top of the sidewalk's cement but he was scared that he is going to fall so he said "Hold my hand Mom."

Thanks for coming by folks. It is 12 midnight now and I have to sign off, my migraine is killing me. I'll visit you guys tomorrow.

Pixel Bug Weekend

We spend our weekend at the ocean park here in Chinhae. Hubster took this picture of us with the Koreans.
The Korean ladies were all over EJ, they were all telling me (in Korean) that EJ has a beautiful eyes (I did not really understand what they told me but they were pointing at his eyes, so I assumed heheh)

Our princess was busy paddling the boat.

This is the booth where you buy a ticket for the rides.

There is some kind of program or presentation to be held in the park but we did not wait because the kids were getting hungry.

We enjoyed the photo exhibits.

Their traditional music instruments.

How's your weekend folks? For more pixel bug entries, just click the badge above..

One Fine Day in the Land of the Morning Calm

When I resigned from my part time job, we fully enjoy our family walks and bonding moments every weekend. These photos were taken at General Yi's Circle. We enjoyed ourselves looking at the beautiful flowers and greeting the Koreans with "An Neong Haseyo". I love the perrenials and the smell of the tulips .... hmmmm sooooo good.

There's nothing especial with this building, I just find it cute hehehe..
Then after that we proceeded to the ocean park. There are Korean guys who were fishing so we watched them for a while. It amazed us that they are not using any bait, just the fishing hook and surprisingly, they caught some fish..
See this milk fish, the guy caught it just by his fishing hook.... So talented!

Want to grill it guys lol? Happy weekend everyone!

Gorgeous Mini-Park

Sometimes after attending mass and I am not in the mood to cook, we just go out and eat some korean food at Home Plus so the kids can play at the play area with the Korean kids afterwards.

One Sunday, we decided to drop by at this mini park they built before heading home. I remember when we used to take for a walk to be familiarized with the place, this area is an abandoned place then but they developed it into a pretty mini park.

Isn't it gorgeous? Did you know that the material they used to make those stuff are like dried grass, am not really sure what it was but it looked like grass. Korean's are very talented when it comes to gardening. Thanks again for visiting and commenting of course!

It's been..
