Labor, Delivery, and bringing home the Baby..

Oh boy, it is now 12:05 and I am just starting to write this one whew! I missed this topic at Mommy Moments before so I don't want to miss it this time at Couple's Corner theme for this week. I did not have any pictures during the actual delivery for Rylie because I was rushed then to an emergency C-Section (you may find out why and what happened that night that scared my husband and I to death by clicking the link. That was one scary and unforgettable experience I've had during deliveries. But I thank God that He is always there watching us!

Here are some of the pictures that we took when we were going home and brought Rylie to my FIL's home. We were still living that time at my FIL so Rylie was kinda spoiled with all the attention from my in-laws.

With EJ, my due date was planned according to the statistics of his age inside my womb. But I guess that our little boy wanted to come out soon because three days before my scheduled C-Section (again), I was already having contraction. when my husband brought me to the hospital, they just gave me an injection to control or stop the contraction and wait for the scheduled ones (agonizing!). But it's all worth it because my son was born very healthy.

Somehow my anesthesiologist did not give me time to absorb the epidural before they cut my tummy because I was in pain and feeling the strong pressure on my gut when they were doing the surgery and pulling out EJ out of me. Oh gosh, I don't think I could do it again.

Rylie was very excited for EJ's coming. She stayed at my FIL the night I delivered EJ and then visited the next morning to see her little brother. She's very loving to him and wanted to do anything that I do to him/for him. The only problem we had when we first brought EJ home was that Rylie was still nursing that time. I looked like I gave birth to twins because I was nursing two babies lol. But anyhow, after a week or two, I weaned her by force, which she wasn't happy about.

God blessed me with abundant breast milk because from the time Rylie was born until EJ was two years old, my milk was continuous. The funny thing about bringing home a new baby is the jealousy that the other one feels. I remember witnessing Rylie did stuff to EJ like biting his finger, pulling his hair, and doing stuff when I am not paying attention. But other than that, Rylie is a very good sister to EJ. Now, they are both ornery and sometimes giving me migraine lol. But I love them dearly!

Summer Time Fun

This summer, there are a lot of activities that we can engage our kids into. We can encourage them to help us with gardening. Picture taken when we were still in Korea. Both of them wanted to do the watering of the plants. Digging the ground is one of their favorites to do in gardening.

This was our very first hiking trip. We literally hiked but we didn't finish the whole journey because we have two kids with us. Rylie was so good, she walked all the way to where we stopped and back.

This was taken when we went to Mt. Seorak in 2009.

Rylie and the other kids playing soccer inside the navy base in Chinhae. Introducing your kids to sports is a great way to enhance their sportsmanship and its also a fun experience for us parents.

This was taken in Splish 'n Splash in Osan inside the Air Force base during our first summer getaway in South Korea (2008).

Tip: Inflatable pool is affordable and its good to have at home because if you can't go to a real swimming pool, at least the kids can swim and enjoy the water.

This was taken when we went for a 4-day island hopping in Jeju, South Korea.

How about you guys, what do you do during summer time?

Mayon Volcano View

These were taken when I was still in the Philippines and 6 months pregnant. This is the view from the roof top of the apartment we were renting then, the majestic Mayon Volcano.

Mt. Mayon is an almost-perfect cone active volcano located in Albay Province of Bicol Region (Region V). It is the tourist attraction in Albay. Here's a bigger shot of it taken last year when we had our vacation in the Philippines.
Thanks for visiting.

The music in Me

I am not really a good singer but I can sing a tune. I was a member of our school choir during high school days. Then when I was working in school, the non-teaching employees formed a choir which we called the "Nightingales." We used to sing whenever there is a mass at the chapel.

This one here is the picture of my and my classmates in graduate school. We organized a Christmas Carol which aimed to gather funds for our social work. We caroled at the house of one of our professors.
We bought can goods and give it to the poor families in Daraga, Albay.

Can you spot me in the photos?

Lady of Guadalupe

This picture was taken in Bula Camarines Sur where the big statue of the Lady of Guadalupe was built. This is on top of the mountain where you can see the whole city of Bula and the neighboring towns of Camarines Sur. This was taken in the mid 90's.

Bulusan Lake & New Year's List

This photo was taken in Bulusa Lake in Sorsogon Philippines. We had our Recollection Trip as part of our Theology 6 subject requirement for graduation... to reflect and enjoy the nature. I was 27 years old in this photo and just graduating in college. I didn't start college until I was 24 years old.

The theme for this week's MommY Moments is New Year's List so here it goes:

  1. EJ will turn three years old on the 15th of this month, am still struggling on his potty training and eating habits. He refuses to use the toilet and doesn't want to eat veggies and meat grrrr.
  2. Rylie will start school by August, we also planned to enroll her in a dancing lesson. We just can't do things yet this month because we are so busy. She'll turn five by July.
  3. John will go back to school (full time) to pursue his bachelor's degree. He is enrolled in a Nuclear Medicine course, hopefully he could knock this course out in no time. He will be officially out of the Navy on the first week of March. YOU are all invited to his retirment party hehehe.
  4. My goal for this year is to spend more time with hubby and kids that is why I seldom visit you guys nowadays, pardon me. I only blog on midnights like tonightl when they are all sleeping.
  5. We will continue with our remodeling project at the basement, next month will be a upgrade project by the contractor we hired for our bath tub (only). We also plan to have our backyard fenced this summer because of Champ, SANA our budget will permit.
  6. Hopefully we could have a family vacation this year.
Have a nice day everyone. Can't visit you yet, still busy unpacking.

A letter to Santa and a picture at Cagsawa Ruins

She was writing a letter yesterday and I asked her who its for, she said that Its for Santa. She put it under the tree. I said "I thought, you already told Santa what you want?" Her reply was "Just in case Santa forgets, it's a reminder." What a clever little booger she is. I am proud of you Anak.

One of the many favorite places that I want to hangout when I was still working in Nabua Camarines Sur is to go in Cagsawa Ruins (Daraga, Alabay, Philippines) with my friends. We never had a day off from our work, yep it's true, our chinese boss kept us working 7 days a week.

The only way we could get away from work is to make an alibi like going home for emergency or something like that. This picture was one of those times when I have to tell my boss "I have an emergency" lol. I think you just have to think and play a little trick to your boss sometimes, an euphonious keeps you smart.
Have a happy holidays everyone.

This photo was taken when a female friend and I went to Bagasbas beach in Daet Camarines Norete, Philippines to unwind and think things out with her pregnancy. By posting this photo, I got a nasty comment from a certain Diyosa on my conscience post. You might read the post if you have time. But anyhow, this was taken eleven years ago, I was 25 then.

It's been..
