Letting Go - Nostalgia # 61

PhotobucketRemember this bracelet I have posted previously?  These two jewelries were  the first  gifts that my husband gave me when he first came over to see me in the Philippines.  I only wore the bracelet once, that was during the   graduation for my MBA.  I like gold  jewelries but I  am not fond of the big ones such as this bracelet.  It's too gaudy or flashy  which doesn't really fit my personality.
Letting go of things is hard but if you will weigh the  benefits that it will do, then it's a different story.   As much as I want to preserve the sentimental value of it, I finally let go of it while the value of gold right now is  a little higher.  My husband paid $575  when he bought this 22K bracelet in Guam but we sold it for $740.  Not bad eh?  We gained a profit by selling it.  So it was a good riddance actually.

WOW! It's indeed a good riddance, Rose. Nag-aappreciate kasi talaga ang value ng gold.

I agree Lainy so I am happy. It's funny though that I did not go when hubby and the kids brought it at the gold place because I was worried I would change my mind lol.

aww, i would keep it if it's mine, not because of sentimental value but the value of gold itself, five to ten years from now, and the price will be doubled. good investment talaga ang gold.

agree, golds valued much these days. im very sentimental when it comes to jewelries...besides, i can always pawn it, when the need arises. it's almost 2k pesos for a gram here. kaya good investment kna:)

The gold bracelet that John gave you had such a great sentimental value because it was the first gift he ever gave you. Even if you are not prone to wear such attractive piece of jewelry you could have kept it for sentimental reason. Well, you and John are very practical and decided to just sell it off and even earned a profit as against the original buying price. I think if you will ask John, he will tell you that he would prefer that you keep it for he put so much sentimental value to it. Their family are very sentimental but I may be wrong. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

Hi Kuya, at first he doesn't want me to get rid of it but we are putting the money in a good use naman so it's worth letting go of it.
