Nostalgia # 7 - High School Days

When we had our first visit to my family last year, my husband saw this small box with my high school medals on it. He told me that I should bring it here and have it as a keepsake for our kids. So I did brought it here. I am not a smart person but I think due to my determination, I study my lessons as hard as I could which rewarded me with merits at the end.

Here's another piece of me growing up so please have time to peek at the whole story by clicking the snippet below.

it's a great idea to show your medals to your kids--i'm sure these would inspire them to be better in everything they do.

i finally contributed something...made a new blog site, too.:p

Your family must be proud of you, especially your hubby. Sobra siguro ang paghanga nya sa iyo kahit hindi nya sabihin, iba kasi kinalakihan nyo diba. You're one of the few people I really admire in this blogworld. Sana ma-meet ko kayo in person someday. I know we will..

wow ang galing galing mo, Rose! I never had an academic medal ever buti nalang anak ko ay blessed each year with academic awards like waht you have.

Alam i feel na mas blessed yong mga tao na naghihirap and they are determined to attain higher education. working as a student is a blessing. I think if i haven't been that way iL never be at where I am now or what I am now.

I miss those times.

Btw, feel ko magkasunod lang tayo ng scholastic years. i graduated primary school in 1986. :)

It's great that you still have your old stuff to remember your old days. If you have the determination... the will... you will really accomplish a lot... Congratulations on your medals! :) Wish I kept mine as well..

I read your great miracle article... To God be the glory that you're all still alive eventhough you lost your house and your siblings and dad were almost carried away by those waves. You're blessed! Something to be very thankful for. :)

If there's a Will, there's always a way. I did my landlady's laundry during college. I didn't mind if my hands were bleeding due to the fact that I had to use my hands to wash clothes. I didn't finish my college education because of Love, but, that's life. We can never tell what lies ahead when it comes to our fate. God is good, and I believe in that..

Dami mong medal bading, yes you are a smart person bading both academics and none, you also know a lot about life because of your experiences.

Akomaski isa walang medal or ribbon kasi I always cut classes to steal mango or pine apples. I just hate school when i was little.

I read the entire story of your high school days and I was really amazed at your determination and fortitude. You are indeed a survivor. You survived the onslaught of a tropical storm which caused a tidal wave that wiped out your entire house. How your parents were able to reconstruct your house and your lives and how you were able to enroll in high school from sheer determination and hard work is a story work telling and emulation from others. Now, I understand why blessings seem to fall to your lap for as Julie Andrews sang, "For somewhere in your youth or childhood, you must have done something good." Thanks for the inspiring post. God bless you all always.

Hi Rose, Sorry for this is late. Better late than never.

When you asked me to join, I was not home a day early to post. I was with my daughter which is a long way from me.

Anyway, am posting mine as a Test Run and see what happens.

Good nostalgic post you have here. And a good theme as well. Hope you will leave it open so I won't scramble to find what is suitable.

In the meantime, I put your badge in a special page which you will find below my Main Blog header.

(I am with you. We don't need to be smart to be a good student. Studying hard was my secret too!)
