Nostalgia # 4 - the Remains

Before I talk about my fourth entry, I would like to inform everyone that Nostalgia will not only revolve around old photos, as it is just one of the many things that you can post. You can also post a souvenir from a place you have been, or a gift that you received from someone. You can also share a past experience, or one of someone you know, that had a big impact in your life or some else's life. As I have said, your choice is unlimited so keep it rolling. Thanks again for joining.

Okay, let us talk about my entry. Last Friday while I was in the kitchen preparing dinner and hubby was reviewing for an upcoming test, our son was up to mischief. I heard a loud crash! My heart started beating really fast and I ran towards the hallway. My heart sunk when I saw our son holding the curio that was in in the corner of our hallway. Many of our souvenirs and display items were scattered across the floor. Hubby was really impressed with our son's strength because that curio is cast steel and wood and quite heavy. To avoid being injured further, our little man braced himself and locked his little arms straight above his head and held that curio up until his dad arrived and lifted away his burden.

It turns out, he was attempting to climb to a higher shelf to get something that he isn't supposed to play with but he really likes. He learned a great deal about physics within a matter of seconds.
The vases that I purchased in Korea were crushed huhuhu.
This is the one that he was trying to get. The porcelain Japanese musical doll that was given to me by hubby when I was still in the Philippines and he was in Japan. I recall him asking me what he would like for me to get while he was in Japan and I simply said "Just don't get a Japanese girl" and to have a little fun about my remark, he bought me this.

The photo on the right is an incense jar that my hubby received from a Buddhist temple The lid got broken so hubby wanted to throw it away but I said not to.
Do you see that white thing stuck on the carpet?

It was one one of the sharp part of the wings of this swan. Imagine what could have happened to our little man if this thing fell on his head, oh my God, just the the thought of that makes me sick. This swan is so memorable to us since this is one of the three that I brought from the wedding gifts that we had before we left the Philippines.
The remains...

The buddha is also one of the wedding memorabilia that we had from our wedding (good thing it didn't break). The photo on the right is of a solid iron Buddha with a very sharp point on top of its head. This could have really injured our son.
We were so thankful that God is always watching our kids and spare them from harm. God protected him from being crushed by the heavy curio and from those sharp things that fell. He was injured by the large stone sculpture as you can see below. We are very thankful that he only got a bruise and a scrape on his ankle.

See, I could have had so many posts for nostalgia with these souvenirs but now I have to include them all into one post. Thank you so much guys for making this meme a nostalgic one.

ooohhh.. thank God that EJ was not harmed.. that's ok kahit me senti value but at least EJ is ok. How is he now? ok na yung bruise at yung sa ankle niya? I remember my kids ng ganyang age haay.. kahit anong bantay mo talaga. mabuti at lagi nakabantay angels nila.

The best thing is, EJ is ok, that he is not badly hurt. That's the reason why I'm satisfied living in our simple apartment less all the display, having two boys around the house is always accident waiting to be happen. I'll wait until they are big enough and done with playing. :D
I'll be back with my link. :)

The incident you posted is indeed very scary. Although little accidents like this are a common place with little boys like EJ, they may turn out to be nasty or even tragic. Good thing nothing serious happened to him. I never forget to pray for you and your household and those of Shy, Dhemz and Bambie. I always pray to God to cover all of you with the precious blood of Jesus Christ to protect you all from all harm and danger. Always take care and pray for your family. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

He learned his lesson! I hope that he won't do it again. I wonder where he got the idea on climbing up stuff, Is it from you climbing on the kitchen cabinet and knocking it down or me climbing on the dresser and almost got killed? Lol. He is both like us Hon, happy birthday and I love you very much!

Hi Rose, sorry for my late post, was waiting a word of affirmation to our local newspaper manager for me to start my paper route. Pls help me pray na sana makuha ko ito para at least may iba akong sideline. Very active talaga kids when they grow up nu? Iba talaga interest of your son, he gets what he wants to get no matter what happens to him. lols, very strong-willed child. Glad to hear he's not badly hurt and my sympathy for your sentimental things.
