Ceneca Rock and Canaan Valley in West Virginia

One of the  beautiful views that we've seen during our recent road trip is the Ceneca Rock.  We did not really stop to see  its full beauty because we were trying to catch up with the last trip for the Ceneca Cavern.  Our  children wanted to see the cave but of course, I had to  keep clicking while hubby is driving.  Thanks to my extra lens I have  with my camera, I got to  take a bit farther.  Isn't these rocks gorgeous?
Here's the view  going back from Ceneca Cavern.  We were going to stop but decided  to continue on going home as it was getting late and we did not want to drive in the dark.
We also passed by Canaan Valley which I am sure would be a gorgeous one to see too.  Maybe on our next road trip, we would be able to see what we missed.

Also on the road was this three crosses.

I will show you our adventure to the Ceneca Cavern on my other blog or maybe next time in this blog.

That rock formation really gets itself noticed! Depending on the view, it sort of looks like a sleeping person! Enjoy the day and greetings from California.

Aren't those limestones? I think they were carved out when the land they cover eroded.
And, yes, those rock formation reminds me of our trip to Sagada where the famed hanging coffins are.

PS.
I wished I could have a telephoto like yours so I could shoot up distances. Paypal come to meeeeee :)

Love always,
Ate Riz

Rock formations have always interested me--it amazes me that sun, rain etc could ultimately form such beautiful sculptures of nature. The backdrop of the lush mountainside is also gorgeous.

That is nice looking rocks there! And I love the shapes. I think it is great to have a camping somewhere near the area you were while taking the pics. I can now imagine eating lots of foodies, I'm sure one can have big bites in a serene place like that. Awesome!

I just want to clarify that this is in WEST VIRGINIA and not in Virginia. We got that a lot though when we say that we are from West Virginia.
