Father's Day 2017

June was a very busy month for  my family.  With all the  outdoor projects  that my husband  and I have been doing, I barely have time to  sit down in my desk and write about  stuff.  Everything I post is  so late but it's okay as our time is being spent on  home improvement and family bonding.  We made a special breakfast for  him before we went to church.
The kids made their own personalized cards for  their Dad.  Hubby and I always appreciates the time and effort that our kids put into making their cards for us on special occasions.
They even influenced me to make one  for my husband.  My husband is a such a fun Dad for our kids so I played a little  with the color, I chose pink for the material to make a card for him.  I actually bought a card  for him but he accidentally  saw it in my office so  being the surprised is ruined, I made him another one.
I  felt bad because he had a migraine that day but  he is a real trooper and smiled through pain.
After attending mass, we visited his Dad and  brought him some  flowers.  The kids put it together with the flag that they brought him during Memorial Day.
We used to celebrate  Father's Day with my FIL  at his house when he was still alive  but now we  visited and celebrated it at his  new and permanent home.
I would like for my kids to continue  this tradition of visiting loved ones  even just on special occasions.
Father's Day always makes me miss my own father as well.  He passed on 14 years ago and I still wish he still here to see my kids.  I hope that he is happy wherever he is now with the  creator  up there.

Father's Day with Dad at Gables

The past couple of months has been  very busy for us so we haven't gone to church as much as we  normally would.  This year's Father's  Day though, we  made our effort to  attend the mass.  It was  special because the kids   were altar servers with the new priest of St. Joseph.

Even on Father's day, we went to the house after we ate breakfast and work there before we  came back home  and go to church.  That's how  crazy our schedule is  because we are  getting ready to move this weekend and there's still a lot of things to be done.  I wish my family is here, I could have ask them to help me but they are so far away.  Hubby and I and the kids are the only ones working on it.
After the mass, we headed to  Hopedale Ohio to visit  my father-in-law whom we haven't see for few weeks as we  have so busy  working at the house we just bought.  Gables Care Center is a nice facility with really nice  employees, they do take care of their  residents really well.  I just wish it is near us so we could visit more often.

While we visit and talked to Dad, the kids played checkers.  Dad was sitting in the hallway when we arrived.  It was sad seeing him alone in there.  He had a blank stare  in his face.  He was happy to see us though.
He didn't talk much, I don't even know if they know who we are.  The Alzheimer's really made a big impact on his well-being.  It is so sad to see him from a bubbly and active man to not being able to take care of himself.
My BIL and SIL Rick and Jill came  afterwards.  We got to catch up with them before we left.
My husband's Father's Day was simple but a meaningul one since we  spent it with family.

Father's Day 2015

The kids were  pretty excited to show their  craft projects for my husband on Father's day.  As soon as they wake up, they  brought the box in the living room so their Dad can see it.  These are the kind of gifts that I love because the kids  put  thought, time, and love into it when they prepared them.
These are empty  candle jars that I saved and we made them into photo jars!
My husband also love the paintings that they did  for him.  Even my son took a lot of effort into making Daddy a special one.
After  eating the brunch I made, we went to attend  church.  There was a guest priest  that day.  He's an Indian, a missionary priest from India.  He told us a very funny but joke,
After the mass, we  came home and let our fur babies out so they can do their business before we went to visit my father-in-law.  It gave us the chance to take some photos in our front porch.
Moments like this makes me want to have more kids, lol.  Just kidding, two is  enough for us, just a perfect number   for us to raise and support.
We brought Dad a fresh strawberry pie.
Glad that Dad was in a very good spirit when we  visited.  He wasn't loaded yet so the kids had fun interacting with him.  I always like it when we go there and my father-in-law is not drunk because he  act normal but when he is drunk, he is very ornery.
Before we left, we took a family photo.
My husband took the kids to the swimming pool when we came back home but  I stayed  and mowed the lawn since it's Father's day so I gave him a break, lol.
It's been raining here  so we  were not able to mow our yard for a week, the grass were so tall already and it was a bit harder to  cut.  You have to go very slowly so the mower won't die.  But anyway, I got it all done and my husband was impressed as I cut  everything  including the outside  part of the fence.  I normally leave that for him but  tis time I finished everything.

Father's Day Tribute

Here are some more of the photos we took during our recent   fun picnic at Raccoon State Park last Friday.  It was the perfect day to go there because  it was warm and  it wasn't crowded as  most of the people are  working.
I am not sure if this bird that was  serenading me while I was relaxing was an oriole but he has a an orange color in his wings.
To honor the best Dad  at our home, this post is dedicated to  my husband, the  best Dad that my two children  could ever have!  He is full of humor and wit, he is fun to be around and most especially, he is loving and caring!
Happy Father's Day Daddy, we love you very much!
