Family Portraits

Our church  announced  in April that a company will come to take  family  pictures for the church directory. We have never done anything like that so we thought of doing it this year so we can be included in it.   The company is called Re:MEMBER Church Directories.  It's a company from North Carolina that  offer to take pictures  for free for  churches.  The church doesn't pay them anything for their services but to  compensate for their time,  they would encourage and  talk  the families into ordering their photo packages.  Just like us, we didn't really plan on getting  the package as the photo session entitled us a free 8 x 8 copy of the photo.  But our plan changed as the photographer  talked us into ordering a package.
Anyway, I didn't like that  I am a little hunchback in some of these shots.  An excellent photographer would tell you to correct your posture .  An excellent photographer is a good director.  I don't even like how my  daughter's posture lok like.
We ordered the 10x20 Trio Portrait.  It has a cherry frame  and a black digital mat.  We paid $179.51 for it.  The package   comes with a touch up and a CD from which I copied these photos.  The touch up includes  soften  facial lines, remove blemishes,  and whiten teeth.  Honestly, I don't think they did a good job in  the touchup because our teeth still looks the same and our fine lines are still visible.  What I don't like is the oily face that we have lol.
The only thing that encouraged us to order is the fact that the photographer is very friendly .
I don't like the poses that he instructed my daughter to do.  Her arms doestn't look good at all.  I should have watched when they were having their photos taken.  I could have told her that her posture wasn't right.  But, the fact that it was a professional photographer, I rest my trust in him that he would do a great job.
On another note, the frame arrived  safely then a couple of weeks later, we received the  photos.

The photos were packaged neatly but one of the cormers of the trio photo was damaged as shown in the photo above.   The frame doesn't have a  glass but the photo was thicker than regular photo.  I still have to hang this on our wall, I will show you it when I finish my project.
If I have to rate the overall experience, I'll give it 3 stars.  For the  price I paid, I expect  much better but it's okay, you live and you learn.

Photos Before Going to Church for EJ's Communion

I have a confession, I am obsessed of taking  family photos.  I tink my  lovelies gets annoyed of me sometimes because  I would always say "Let's take family pictures first" before  going to the event that we have to go.  I know that it is  an inconveninece sometimes but I am sure, my kids would sure appreciate it later.
My tripod  got damaged years ago so I have nothing to use but look for something that I can lay the camera.  In order to see if the photo is in the right position, I always asked them to  pose for me forst, hence the photos without me on the first two shots.
Thanks goodness for the timer on the camera I get to be in the family photos, it doesn't happen mist of the times but  when we have time, I get to squeeze in.  That's one reason, I love to get ready early so that it would allow us time to take pictures  before taking off.
These were taken  at our backyard.  The bottom part of the photos are a little hazy  because of the reflection of the   tool that I used to laid the camera in.
Daughter took a picture of me and hubby in our living room.  I think it turned out  good, thanks Ms. Burrito!
My son would always say "Mom, really?" when I asked me to pose over and over again lol.
My daughter on the other hand is always game for it, that I love because I don't have to ask her, she sometimes asks me to take pictures of her.
When my husband takes picturesm he doesn't tell you  when he is ready to  capture the photos, he just click, click, click without telling you anything lol.  His reason is, for me to choose which one I like.  I like them all anyway, so her you go.
EJ's first communion went well.  I can't believe how these two are growing up like weeds.
Soon, they will be taller than me.  I don't even want to think about them  driving or  leaving home to attend college because it makes me sad every time.  I think it's just every MOm's  ting to worry about their kids.

Family Photo Fun After Christmas Eve Mass

After attending the Christmas eve mass, I asked my lovelies  not to change their clothes first so we could have a little fun in front of the camera.  Even our  fur babies were up top it as well so they were included in the photos.
These two always carry each other.  It's one of their favorite thing to do when I try to take photos of them.
Look at those bright eyed  little Miss hehehe.
IN this pose she is trying to  guess what Santa might bring her for Christmas.
Then she  put on silly faces.
Finally, she gave me a real pose.
Then hubby and I joined the fun.  Thanks to the self timer.  My camera's tripod is broken already so it is so hard to  get a good shot of all of us.
 The boys including Champ.
They always object when I asked them that we need to take photos but once I started  clicking, they are all up to it.
What I  love is my  husband's sportsmanship.  He definitely is a big "kid".
Family photo at last.. but.. wait, Champ was in the way..
There you!  I was   laughing at the last one because I was  very ticklish of Bolt trying to kiss my  cheeks.  Can you see him in between me and my daughter?
It's always  nice to let loose once in a while  d document  it.  I wish you a happy and prosperous 2015!  May the new year bring us all   much love, peace, forgiveness, and grace!

Family Picture

They say that  Ms. Burrito looks like me but when you look at my husband's baby picture, the little Miss looks  just like her Dad.  A lot of people also say that  Mr. Burrito looks like his Dad but  he actually looks like my youngest brother  but with fair skin and hazel eyes.  What do you think?

Link  with me every Friday through ColoConnection.  You can post any color that you like
