Interstate Drive #MarylandtoWestVirginia

When we came back here in the mainland from South Korea (2009), our car was shipped. I took a few weeks before it arrived to the landing destination, Maryland. Hubby and I flew from Pittsburgh to Maryland then we picked up the car and drove it back.

We did the same thing when  we first arrived here from Guam (2005).  The only difference is that we  rented a car and drove it to Virginia  which  was a bad idea especially that I was few weeks away from my due date.  We  also did not have  a GPS  so we've lost our way a couple of times.

We learned our lesson so we flew the next time and then we brought  a GPS so we never got lost.
It was a good journey for both of us, kinda like a date without the kids lol.  While in Maryland, we  visited his Aunt whom he have never seen for years.  They were surprised because  my husband was still a kid when he last  seen his relatives.  Driving from State to State is fun especially when you are with your love one.
With his Aunt Carol and cousin LaDonna who lives in Dundalk, MD.

Mmm... driving in Virginia and Maryland. My brother and I caravanned with some friends through Virginia and Maryland (before GPS) and got separated when a truck fire on the freeway through D.C. caused the police to divert traffic through various exits. My brother and I were driving around trying to figure out what to do next. The other driver called my brother's cell phone asking us where we were. We started naming all the stores and gas stations around us. "Wait a minute" he said, "I think I see you." We were diverted off of two separate exits and ended up in the same shopping center parking lot. In D.C. How great is that? Thankfully we were able to follow my brother's friend home from there.

I'm glad you had a better experience this time around with your travels. Yay for GPS!

It was fun to see your pictures. I'm glad you had the chance to have some precious time with your husband's family.

getting lost is sometimes fun. you find the most interesting places when you get lost.

Car trips are always good times. Even when you get lost there will be great stories for later!

I agree, a road trip with someone you love is great fun! Last year we drove from Texas to Tennessee to visit my children and back again, during the fall when trees were changing colors, it was so beautiful! I am glad your husband got to visit his aunt, I'm sure that was fun for both of them!

love these photos. first time i've seen them. not so beautiful weather but a really great scenes sis, huh? great there's GPS now. my brother relies on his GPS driving around Manila, imagine that. He doesn't ask for addresses anymore, just coordinates at Google Map. I'm always impressed when he does that. sorry for the late visit here for ABC Wednesday!
