Nature Trekking at Raccoon Creek

We decided to go to  Raccoon Creek last weekend  as our kick off of enjoying the warm weather.  We went hiking first on the trail when we arrived to keep our adrenaline going.  I had to spray my daughter with off first because she is super allergic to mosquito bites.  She swells up every time she gets bitten by it.  I remember when we were still in Korea, she was swarmed by mosquitoes on our first night and the next day, she was in agony.  Our very first trip to the mall was finding a good mosquito net for her and we bought some ointment and spray.
Our children has always been in love with nature treks.  Both John and I are nature lovers so it's natural for them to be like us too.  When they were little and we were still in Asia, we climbed half of Mt. Jiri, our son was way little then so my husband carried him in his back through a baby carrier gear that a lady in the military base lent me.
The Burritos had so much fun  exploring the woods.  I saw this wild flower that looks exotic so I bent over to take a picture and the grass that surrounds it  was so itchy, I felt  like  hundreds of needles poked my skin.
I couldn't take it when Mr. Burrito held this caterpillar, wahhhh.  Not sure if you could see the chipmunk on the right picture.
We went as far as we could at the beach trail.  You can see the  beach when you look down from  the trail.
Mr. Burrito fell down when we were going down so I  gave him a piggy back ride.
Educating kids does not contain in the classroom or home only but also outside our home.  Hubby was  showing the kids the inchworm on the photo on the right.
It was really nice, we plan to do it again sometime before  summer is over.
Hubby and the kids  went swimming  afterwards.  Will share the photos next time. It is so nice to be out again and not stuck indoors with a freezing winter. Nothing like a fun day in the woods!

How I wish we had plenty of natural creeks and forests here in Metro Manila. The nearest (and only one) I can think of is the La Mesa Dam in QC. Guess my hubby and I will just have to make plans for that. It'll surely be a learning experience for my Maia.

This park in hilly western PA is stunning. Your lovely family looks ready to hike in the sun and shadows, and the look is breathtaking. We sometimes forget that we can relax and stay cool in the shade and not just inside with the A/C blasting. Your children have the love of the outdoors. Nice trip!
