well-travelled children

A lot of babies cry on their first time to fly on a plane. My daughter was eight months old when she first flew. We went to Pensacola Florida in March 2006 and and I can say that she was pretty good because she didn't cry at all. I think she got used to it when she was still in my tummy (lol). I ran from one side of that huge Houston Airport to the other side in order to catch our connecting flight to Pittsburgh. Whew that was tough because I was 7 months old preggy then! My husband and I said that we will never get a connecting flight with a very limited time to catch up especially in a very big airport like Texas.

With my son, he was 14 months old when he first travel on a plane. We came here in Korea in March of last year (2008) and I am so glad and lucky that both my kids are very good to travel with. They just play with the toys we brought and sleep when they are tired. Here's EJ sleeping from a very long-arduous flight. (Atlanta Georgia to Seoul Korea.)
Rylie and EJ playing on a boring flight to Korea. Way to go mga anak!

Here's some tips when you are traveling with kids:

  • Be sure to bring some of their favorite toys;
  • Snacks and drinks;
  • Coloring books and pens;
  • extra pair of clothes and towel; and
  • chewing gum.

Hahaha.. when my son was still a baby like 9 months, whenever i sung a song to him, he would cry,. i think my voice irritates his ears lol.. But now, he love it.. Thanks Sun!

Lucky you dearest dahil di ka nahirapan magtravel with your kids. Ako iniisip ko pa lang mag travel ng 31 hours from here to the Philippines nahihirapan na ako hahaha..

indeed they are :-) lucky you, Rose, jacob's first flight was when we went to the Philippines, he was then 2 going to three and oh man, i was so tired because hubby didn't go with us. Jacob was fine during take offs, but landing was a nightmare, he would cry and wanted me to hold him, but i couldn't because my hands were full of luggage. that was a lesson for me, after that long ordeal, hubby is always with me all the time during our flights.

>You never know Lou, he might be a good traveler like my kids.. But of course it still hard to travel with kids even if they're not cranky coz you have to constantly entertain them..

>yeah, I will never travel alone with my kids tces, that's very hard to do..

>Mas maganda kasi pag bata pa sanay na magtravel ang bata para kahit san mo dalhin di mahirap..

>Actually when we landed in Seoul Airport, Rylie cried because she wanted to go back in West Virginia, she said that she's missing Pap..

I have not flown with any of my kids..but just driving in a car can be crazy..all of my kids except Sebastian are great travelers...my youngest just hates it, so glad I do not have to take him on a plane! Your kids are cuties! :)

dezz said...

your kids are so cute.. I wish I have mine-:(

Chubskulit Rose said...

>I see, thanks for letting me know joy hehehe...

>Thanks Tiff, yeah driving on a car is much difficult than flying because they're just sitting there, nothing to do.. On the plane, they can walk around if they're already tired sitting down... My son always cries when we have a long drive..

>Hi Dezz, not a problem.. Tell your hubby to make you babies now hehehe..

Erik's first flight was when he was 13 months. When we went to Philippines for vacation. The trip was good for Erik.Everything went fine.He did not cry at all.
Last year we went to Finland by car, but it was not good as riding the plane.
sitting in car safety seat for many hours is not possible for children.
kaya nong nagbyahe kami, we stopped now and then to get out from the car.

Mga jetsetter mga anak mo bakla, dafat lang kasi ang layo ng pinas at US plus Korea ayyy kaloka. Buti ng masanay maaga, lalo na situation ninyo, na hubby mo anytime assign kahit anong lugar.

May jake first time traveled by plane when he was 4 months ols and he was pretty good then, and then the second time when he was 11 months old. He was still a good baby then kaya hindi nagrereklamo, all the stewardess liked him kasi ang bait daw. iwan ko ngayon kung isakay ko yan ng eroplano magrereklamo ba o hindi.

Ang bilis talaga lumaki ng mga bata ano, look at rylie and EJ ang baby na baby sa picture going to korea ngayon hindi pa nga kayo siguro nag 1 year sa korea parang lumaki ng 2 taon ang mga anak mo bakla.

Kailan nga pala balik ninyo dito sa US? swerti ka bakla kasi asawa mo hilig lakwatsa, asawa ko asus!!! hilig magreklamo

My daughter was 3 months old on her first air travel and she kept the whole craft busy with her constant crying..it was hard for me but the crew members and even some of the fellow passengers offered me their help.......but now she is an angle as far as travel is concerned....lucky you....your kids are adorable ...muaaahhhhhhhhhs

Andrea's was 5 mos old when she first flew (Alabama - Philadelphia). She was the best! Not even a whimper!

When we went home to Phils. she was 13 months... she was miserable... she wanted to walk but she can't or we will disturb the passengers all the time... When we had our lay over in Japan, she run and run perhaps she needed to stretch her legs... She cried a lot on our way to Phils but on our way back she was better.

Her latest flight was last June (Alabama-Philadelphia) she was the best baby she just ate munchies on the way to Philly while on the way back she just slept... she didn't even noticed that we were delayed for 30minutes because we can't take off due to heavy air traffic...
