Father's Day with Dad at Gables

The past couple of months has been  very busy for us so we haven't gone to church as much as we  normally would.  This year's Father's  Day though, we  made our effort to  attend the mass.  It was  special because the kids   were altar servers with the new priest of St. Joseph.

Even on Father's day, we went to the house after we ate breakfast and work there before we  came back home  and go to church.  That's how  crazy our schedule is  because we are  getting ready to move this weekend and there's still a lot of things to be done.  I wish my family is here, I could have ask them to help me but they are so far away.  Hubby and I and the kids are the only ones working on it.
After the mass, we headed to  Hopedale Ohio to visit  my father-in-law whom we haven't see for few weeks as we  have so busy  working at the house we just bought.  Gables Care Center is a nice facility with really nice  employees, they do take care of their  residents really well.  I just wish it is near us so we could visit more often.

While we visit and talked to Dad, the kids played checkers.  Dad was sitting in the hallway when we arrived.  It was sad seeing him alone in there.  He had a blank stare  in his face.  He was happy to see us though.
He didn't talk much, I don't even know if they know who we are.  The Alzheimer's really made a big impact on his well-being.  It is so sad to see him from a bubbly and active man to not being able to take care of himself.
My BIL and SIL Rick and Jill came  afterwards.  We got to catch up with them before we left.
My husband's Father's Day was simple but a meaningul one since we  spent it with family.

Weekend at Gables Care Center

After attending the Sunday mass last weekend, we went to Gables Care Center in Hopedale Ohio to visit my father-in-law.  It was  our first visit   since he transferred there  few  weeks ago as we  did not know about it.  The last  info that we knew was  that, he was coming back to the old place where he was  in  after he  was  brought to the hospital but when we visited there, we were  informed that he no longer stayed at the said facility.
Anyway, the place is  30 minutes away from our place but we were excited to see him.  The kids misses their Pap and it was a needed  bond they need  with their grandpa.
Gables Care Center is a well-maintained facility for old folks.  You can tell that they  really  care for all their  clients there unlike the first place that Dad lived into.  I am glad that he was  transferred here.  They seemed to really take care of everyone that comes to this place.
After getting the information about Dad, we found him setting by the grand piano at the other side of the building.  He was talking to my brother-in-law Rick who was also visiting that day.
While my husband was talking to  his brother, the kids entertained their grandpa by playing some tunes on the piano.
It is so nice that they have piano there.  It gives visitors the chance to  play  some music for their love ones.  One of the couples visiting one of the residents, thanked my kids for playing as their Mom really enjoyed it.
If we could have known that there is a piano there,  the kids could have brought their [piano books.  They only have a few memorized  so that's what they played.  They do plan to bring their  books  on our next visit.  My daughter said that if Papa  will stay there for long that she would really love to learn how to play violin and entertained  Dad with it too.  Having said that, I am looking at the best yamaha violin at MF.com selection and the  cheapest price I can find is $699, oh boy!

You can  hear one of the ladies  in the audience was  encouraging  EJ who is  very shy.   She was kind of  giving EJ a hard time, joking with him so he would play  but she was very nice.
It is a  relief  knowing that  Dad is well taken care of at this new place.  I think that Dad was  was not treated well at the  first  place  that's why he was retaliating to the  employees.  When he was taken out from that place, he had bruises on his  arms.
My husband does not really express what he feels sometimes but as his wife, I know deep inside that  it hurts  him seeing  Dad  this way.  Her could no longer  remember who we qwere unless we  introduce ourselves everytime.
The kids  played some board games  after they played the piano.
I was listening to  Dad talking to John and he told him that his wife (who is deceased for over a decade) was looking for John.  "Your Mom was wondering why you haven't come here yet", he told my husband.
I  told my husband that maybe, his Mom visited  his Dad there and was talking to him.
We noticed that Dad was getting tired so we  got ready to leave.  We took  our photos together before   heading out.
Before we left, one of the nurses  there  showed us a picture of Dad and a woman attending a prom.  I guess they  have an activity like a prom  at the said  facility every once in a while.  It was really nice to see how Dad is enjoying his  stay there and that the nurses there really do care.  I wish I could have asked her to send me thepicture, Dad really looked nice with his date!   It makes us  not to worry about him too much.

Family Photo Fun After Christmas Eve Mass

After attending the Christmas eve mass, I asked my lovelies  not to change their clothes first so we could have a little fun in front of the camera.  Even our  fur babies were up top it as well so they were included in the photos.
These two always carry each other.  It's one of their favorite thing to do when I try to take photos of them.
Look at those bright eyed  little Miss hehehe.
IN this pose she is trying to  guess what Santa might bring her for Christmas.
Then she  put on silly faces.
Finally, she gave me a real pose.
Then hubby and I joined the fun.  Thanks to the self timer.  My camera's tripod is broken already so it is so hard to  get a good shot of all of us.
 The boys including Champ.
They always object when I asked them that we need to take photos but once I started  clicking, they are all up to it.
What I  love is my  husband's sportsmanship.  He definitely is a big "kid".
Family photo at last.. but.. wait, Champ was in the way..
There you!  I was   laughing at the last one because I was  very ticklish of Bolt trying to kiss my  cheeks.  Can you see him in between me and my daughter?
It's always  nice to let loose once in a while  d document  it.  I wish you a happy and prosperous 2015!  May the new year bring us all   much love, peace, forgiveness, and grace!

Industrial Scientific Annual Picnic 2014

It was fun getting to know some of the people that my husband worked with five days a week. They were all nice and friendly. Last year, we rarely took to anyone as my husband was just starting to work from the company but this year, he know quite a few.  I took some photos of them while they were having fun  tossing corn bag in the corn hole game.  We play this kind of  game too during family gathering as my sister-in-law makes this bean bag toss game and sells them.

We had a nice time chatting with this young and sweet couple who are getting married in September.  Thanks for the invitation Ralph and Bethany!
Don't Ralph looks like James Paul Marsden, the star from the movie Hop? Me and the kids always think he looks like him.
My son had  a fun time interacting with this goof air force guy hehehe.
Ever since hubby lost 26 pounds, he is looking so  much better without the double chin hehehe.
The Annual Company Picnic sponsored by Industrial Scientific is definitely one of the things to look forward to every year.  Thanks to the family-oriented owners of the company who value the importance of family fun!

Trinity Hospital North

The cancer surgery that my brother-in-law Dave had in UPMC Pasavanth was infected so he was rushed to Trinity Hospital North in Steubenville. He stayed there for a week to have the infection treated and also to gain weight from the diet that the doctors were giving him. He came home yesterday, thanks everyone for keeping my BIL in your prayers. He is undergoing chemotherapy now and is responding well to it.
He was happy when we visited him because he doesn't have anyone to talk to there.  He told his wife to go home that day so she could rest.
On our way home, we gave the kids some  treat at Dairy Queen located in the area.
Happy Memorial Day everyone!

It's been..
