Family Fun Time in Oglebay Last Year #Spring2021

Thanks to a friend who  offered to take our daughter's photos, we got to have a little Spring fun at Oglebay  that day.

Looking at these photos makes me realize  the huge  growth our son has gotten.  He still have a baby face on this photos but now he looks so different.  He became more self conscious of how he looks, how his hair looks, and stuff like that.  He doesn't like his picture taken anymore, I had to beg to take it and even if he let me, he always warn me not to post it on social media so I am always careful of what pics I post.
He doesn't have  braces anymore and he felt relieved about that.  His teeth has straighten so he is happy about it.
She feel a little awkward posing at first but I think she got more comfortable as the shoot goes on.
Being a parent is no joke but it's very gratifying to see how your children slowly becoming an adult.  You get that feeling that makes you say "Did I really gave birth to them?  Did I really raise them right?"  Sometimes, you get to question yourself if you are doing a good job raising them but that's part of parenthood.  There is no perfect manual for it.  It's a constant learning procerss.
One thing is certain, I don't regret giving up my career because I see how my kids have grown in my care and that's good enough accomplishment for me.

Camping in the Backyard

As part of our daughter's birthday celebration , we   did a camping  in the backyard.  We haven't gone to a real camp site yet but  for now, camping in the backyard is a lot of fun.  Maybe when they are old enough, we can  go to a real camping ground.

The moon  on that night was so bright, it was perfect for a camp out in the backyard.  This is one of the many reasons why I wanted a  fenced in backyard because we can do  whatever without the neighbor seeing what we are doing.
We also roasted some marshmallows and  hotdog at a made-up fire pit.  Having a fire pit in the backyard is  another project we will be working on in the future.  for now, using the  stump of the  crab apple tree that we took down is good enough.
The smoke from the fire  drove away the mosquitoes which is advantageous to my kids because they are both allergic to  mosquito bites.  Even with anti-mosquito lotion and ointment, they still get bites once in a while so the smoke totally eliminates that.
Even our fur babies are ready to camp out!
I remember when we camped in the backyard, our dog Bolt was still a pup and he was little then.
It was chilly that night so  having four bodies in a small space was  great, it kept us all warm.
It was hard falling asleep and getting comfortable but the kids seemed to have fallen asleep with no problem.  They woke up so late  the next morning.  If it wasn't going to rain that day, we could have left the tent there for a couple of days but we decided to take it down the next day because when it rains, our  backyard get all the water from the hill.  .
It was fun, we all had a great time and we will definitely do it again, probably next year.

A Mickey BIrthday Party

A month ago today, we attended a first birthday party of a a friend's  first born.  The venue of the even was located near our place but we have never been there.  You can tell that we don't go out to eat very often because a restaurant that close was never visited by us.
The event reminded me of the  very first birthday of my kids. Both of their  first birthdays was just celebrated at home with close friends and family.  With our daughter, I didn't know much  people then so we only have my in laws and one  Fil Am couple that  we  recently met at the mall.  With our son, we hosted it at our home.  It was a bit crowded since our house is small but invited many.  Both parties were  so much fun tho=ugh.
We met  two new Fiipinas at the party.  I don't attend Filipino gatherings anyore so I  only knew few  around the area.
Taking photos on every occasion isd an Asian thing.  We could never get together without taking any photos.
Thanks Aurelyn for inviting us!

Sand Castle Adventure

For our last summer adventure, we took the kids to  Sandcastle.  Sandcastle is a water park located in the Pittsburgh suburb of West Homestead. The park is located on a 67-acre piece of land along the banks of the Monongahela River.
According to Wikipedia, Sandcastle is owned by Parques Reunidos, who purchased Kennywood Entertainment.
The company runs its original sister parks, Kennywood, Idlewild Park, and Lake Compounce. The park contains fourteen water slides, several swimming pools, and a handful of other attractions.  We have been to Kennywood and Idlewild but we have never been to Lake Compounce yet which probably because it is in Connecticut.
Anyway, I took this photo of them before  we entered the entrance gate.  We did not bring our packed snacks because it said on the website that it is not allowed.  I did however brought a bottle of water  and put it in my bag and the lady  made me drink it or if I can't  that I have to throw it in the trash.
I love the setting of this waterpark, it is so relaxing  because it is by the river and  there's lots of trees around,  This willow treee  stood out for me.  I always love the way they look.
We chose to  stay in the area where we could see the bridge.  There were no lawn chairs when we arrived but  we snagged some when some people left.
This big tree provided a shade for me wqhile the three  roamed around the waterpark.
While the kids are having fun, I was  working  at some  reviews done using my phone wich was hard to do
The park has a total of 14 water slides including 3 speed slides. Other slides include the following:
  • Blue Tooba Looba (which replaced Bermuda Triangle, the only closed slide in the park)
  • Thunder Run
  • Tubers Tower and Cliffhangers

Other attractions at Sandcastle include a "lazy river," a large swimming pool, Mon-Tsunami, a wave pool, a hot tub and an area of water slides and water attractions designed specifically for children called Wet Willies.
The park also features an entertainment complex called The Sandbar and a marina.
I wish, somebody in West Virginia will developed a park like this  beside the river, it would be a great attraction during the summer time.

Water is luke a huuge magnet to my children so during summer time, we usually go to the community swimming pool since we don't have one.
Me and the kids are so bklessed that my husband love to go somewhere and have fun.  Life is never a dull moment with him.
We love him dearly!
It said on the website that we are not allowed to bring snacks but  we saw a lot of people there with snacks which looked like a packed snack so I am wondering how they  were able to do that.  The kids wanted something refreshing so they went to buy some  ice cream and it took them almost an hour before they were able to buy something because of the long line.
While I was trying to write review, the boat in the river  was so annoying because they  anchored their boat right where I was  and  other women chilling out.  The said boat with  teenagers  are playing loud music that the entire park could hear and the music they were playing  have profanity words in it  which we were all  wished would go away.  One of the older ladies there actually went to the  management and complained about the  boat but she was told that there's nothing really that they can do.
I went around a li=ttle biut when the kids were resting for a while and took some photos.
This is the wave pool.
Pne opf the ladies in our  spot were kind enough to take a  us a picture. Whoever you are, thank you so mu-ch because we seldom have a family picture when we go somewhere.
We will definitely be coming back there again  next time.
