Follow Your Heart

We flew to California this month but it was an educational-related travel. It was a lot of fun!
July would be our family vacation, it isn't International but still would be a nice one since we are heading to the beach this time. I literally miss  the smell of the beach, the sand, and just  the whole beach scenery. I wish that we could afford to visit and stay at  St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino.  It would really be a great treat to take advantage of the St. Kitts Marriott Super Sand Dollars offer that they have where you can stay 4 nights, and get 3 nights FREE!

It would be awesome to wake up by the beach and go for  a morning walk at one of the sandy beaches at St. Kitts! One of the amenities that I would probably enjoy is the spa, I have never  experienced it in my life yet so that would be something I want to try.

This island that was first spotted by Christopher Columbus in 1493 has a lot to offer. You can feed your eyes with its exotic natural beauty, sunny skies, and enjoy their  sandy beaches on a warm  weather. It would be so nice to get the Discover St. Kitts Package and other great deals someday. For now, I could only wish to go there but hopefully someday, that dream would come to reality.

Miniature Railroad Village #CarnegieScienceCenter

Aside from the Submarine that I posted here, my son also love the Miniature Railroad Village over at Carnegie Science Center.  He loves trains and cars so this is definitely a  sweet treat for him during our visit there last March 8, 2014.
Taking a walk-tour of western Pennsylvania at the world-renowned Miniature Railroad & Village was a pleasure for all of us.
According to the information I got from Carnegie Science Center's website:
This beloved exhibit's story began in 1920 with a man named Charles Bowdish of Brookville, Pa. Originally a holiday display on the second floor of his house, it moved to the Buhl Planetarium in 1954, and ultimately found its final home at Carnegie Science Center in 1992.

The Miniature Railroad & Village® features hundreds of wonderfully realistic animated scenes that illustrate how people lived, worked, and played in our region during an era spanning the 1880s to the late 1930s. A replica of the historic Manchester-Farms is the latest gem added to this extraordinary display.
More favorites include, Fallingwater, Forbes Field, Punxsutawney Phil at Gobbler's Knob, Luna Park, Sharon Steel Mill, a historic Pittsburgh incline, and more.
The Miniature Railroad & Village features:
  • 105 animations
  • 250,000+trees
  • 14 aircraft
  • 85 automobiles
  • 1 Incline (Monongahela Incline)
  • 60 trucks
  • 22 horse-drawn vehicles
  • 23,000 fans in Forbes Field

My son did not want to leave this  feature over at CSC.

I definitely enjoy this tour myself.  I think that it's a great addition to the Carnegie Science Center.  I love the fact that they included all the scenes for four seasons so you will be able to see how the scenery  look like  all year-round.  I hope you enjoyed what I shared through the photos.  Please leave us  your thoughts.

Doodle4Google State of West Virginia Winner 2014

Rylie, our daughter,  is this year's state of West Virginia winner for the said contest. She is competing against 49 other state winners through public voting. Below is her official entry.
Below are some photos  during the  special assembly that  Google and the school have put together to  reveal her official entry.  Three representatives from  Google flew all the way from California and New York to give this recognition to our daughter.
A short interview from the Google representative.
She's explaining her  concept
The Mayor of Weirton also came and gave her a special award, thank you Mayor KOndik!
With the Google reps from New York and California
Her entry was about creating a cure for cancer. Below is her essay.
The world would be a much better place  if we could stop cancer from taking so many lives each year.  Technology has made it easier to detect  and treat but  we still have a long way to go.  One life lost is one too many.

Thank you all so much for casting your votes!

Florida: Are Low Cost Holidays Even Possible?

Florida is a dream destination for many, particularly for those with children who want to enjoy a theme park holiday of a lifetime. However, it has a reputation for being out of reach for those on a budget, with cheap deals being hard to find.

The truth is that holidays in Florida will largely differ in cost, depending on what you wish to experience in the sunshine state. A family wanting to do all the theme parks is definitely going to need more spending money (and a longer holiday) than those who just want to do Disney.

However, you can make sure that you are getting the best low cost holidays to Florida possible by choosing a holiday provider known for offering the best deals across the board.  You can also carefully select your choice of accommodation and the time at which you choose to take your holiday.

When it comes to summer holidays Florida prices can shoot up, leaving hardworking families with a dilemma on their hands. If at all possible, visiting during term time will save you a packet, and may mean the difference between affording the trip at all or not.  If you have school age children and are restricted to the school summer holidays, be sure to explore all options to get the lowest price possible on your dream Florida break.

Typically, it’s best to either book as early as possible, taking advantage of any early worm booking incentives, or leave it until the last possible minute to book. The second option may be risky business, but if you can be flexible on dates, hotels and flight times then it might just save you a small fortune.

Low cost holidays to Florida are out there – they just need a little seeking out. Let a low cost holiday provider wave its magic wand and get you to the Sunshine State within budget.

Our Children Want a Vacation With A Difference This Year. Here Are Some Ideas We Are Considering

My children are a great source of joy to me; they are well behaved and polite, considerate and helpful; well, most of the time. Once or twice a year I enjoy taking them off on vacation, and we have toured North Wales until we know it like the back of our hands. Don’t get me wrong, we love it there and look forward to going every year. The beaches are good, and there is plenty to do. The static caravans we stay in are luxurious and warm. The kids are counting down the days until they break up from school for the summer holidays, and we pile the car high before setting off.

This year, however, I am mulling over vacations that are a little different from our usual break; they deserve a special treat. Take a look at some of my ideas and see if they may suit your family too.

Safari

We have taken day trips to our local safari park and the children have loved it. They become excited, frightened, and fall in love with the animals there. That is why I am considering taking them on a safari (journey) package holiday. There are companies that provide for tourists in Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and many more countries. Some of the holidays are classed as safari and beach so there is plenty of sun, sea, and sand for the children to play in when not on an excursion.

Snow

My children’s faces light up when we have a flutter of snow. The trouble in this country is that we don’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to see their faces if I take them on a European skiing trip. There are luxury packages available from Momentum Ski and other companies that will cater for all levels of experience. I think by introducing the kids to snow action early, one of them may become an Olympic champion.

Canals

My alternative choices of holiday aren’t all in foreign countries. I have watched barges on the canal at Llangollen on our way to North Wales, and have always wanted to try it myself. The children will benefit from a calm, relaxed journey through the countryside and we can stop off at some tourist towns for shopping and fun.

Skippered Yacht Charter

I may have to put my credit card under extreme stress to hire a skippered yacht for a few days and visit a couple of cities along the mediterranean coastline. This is a once in a lifetime treat. The mini-cruise may venture from an Italian or Greek port, which is the country we will spend the rest of our holiday in.

Holiday Camp

We have never been to a holiday camp before, but I think it will give my family a good taste of a traditional British holiday. All of the entertainment is free, and we would hire a self-catering chalet so we can eat cheaply. The sites have their own swimming pools and parks for recreation. Most of them are situated close to a beach for daytime excursions too, so they have everything we need.

You must be feeling a little nauseated by just how perfect my kids are. That is simply because I haven't mentioned the tantrums and naughtiness that my kids are prone to just as much as yours. Still, we wouldn’t be without them.

It's been..
