This post brought to you by The Orkin Ecologist. All opinions are 100% mine.
Ever since I was a kid, I have always feared any kind of worms. My husband can't seem to understand that I am not scared of spiders but I am totally scared of worms. Looking at the top ten bug phobias at Orkin website, I learned that the term for my fear of worms is Scoleciphobia. My husband's phobia is Arachnophobia, the fear of spiders. You would laugh when you see him freak out upon seeing even the smallest spider. My daughter is the combination of me and my husband, she is scared of both worms and spiders. My son on the other hand is not scared of worms at all but he is scared of spiders as well. To prove you of his obsession of worms and other bugs, here are some photos.
My family love outdoor activities and we always take the kids to nature adventure such as hiking, walking on a trail, or even just observing the creatures in a creek. Every time we go on a nature escapade, my son is always busy exploring bugs and other crawlies. It always freaks me out when he holds worms. He know that too so he would purposely show it to me lol. As I was writing this post, I called my son and now he is literally "bugging" me to stay at the Orkin's page wahhh. He is very interested about the Dung Beetle. Now I know how to calm him down when he is getting a little hyper lol. I a m bookmarking Orkin's webpage so I can just come back and check on bugs when my son is feeling "bug-out".
I don't know how the people from Orkin could look at those world’s scariest bugs and not only that, they study every bug there is. If you have kids like mine who likes this kind of stuff and other related science subject, check Orkin out. How about you, do you have bug moment? Are scared of any bug? You may share it here through the comments.
