Remembering 2010's Thanksgiving - Nostalgia # 80

PhotobucketMy Nostalgia this week is uber late so pardon me folks. I was very busy since yesterday so I wasn't able to blog.  I was gonna  blog late last night but then my  PC caught a  virus from the  site that  Ms. Burrito had visited searching for a Wombat.  So be careful in opening links with wombat.

Anyhow, these photos were taken last year's Thanksgiving when my BIL Dave was still around.  We  never had a clue then that the cancer is slowly  eating him up.   Our celebration this year was still  great although we were missing him.
I hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving folks!  Link your fave color  with us.

Mardi Gras

When my daughter got the stomach flu, she missed two days of school. I had to go to school and picked up all her homework so she could keep up with the lessons. It's really nice that her teacher set her aside some of the mardi gras treats for her.
It enlighten my little girl's face when she saw the treats even though she was sick.  Thanks  to Mrs. Gain, her very kind  teacher and for the Mascio family who prepared the  treats!
That's one thing I love about  Ms. Burrito's school.  Everyone really cares for their students  just like their own family.  It's a great thing that's going on in their school and I wish that all school are like them.

The Pianist

Have you guys seen the movie called "The Pianist"?  I watched that movie twice and it's very disheartening.  This 2002 movie revolves around the story about a Polish Jewish musician who struggled to survive the destruction of the Warsaw ghetto of World War II.
Anyhow, my father-in-law has this Gulbransen Makers old piano at his basement and  my daughter  has recently  became so interested in  playing it although I can only teach her one song, the "Open Arms by Mariah Carey, and it's not even complete as I just  listen to the tune of the piano.  We are planning to enrol her in a piano lesson  here in the area.
She loves playing the piano, that's what she does every time we visit  my FIL.
"The sound of the mandolin is a very curious sound because it's cheerful and melancholy at the same time, and I think it comes from that shadow string, the double strings."

I struggled posting this one. I am  currently suffering from stomach flu.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Seiko Wrist Watch

Mr. Burrito made a card for his Father's birthday last Friday.  You can tell  that he posses a sweet tooth as he uses M&M's  as boarder for the card.
I replaced the image of the card I bought for hubs.  I want him to  laugh when he  opened it.  He had a  long day in school last Friday so  I thought of making him smile when he gets home.  Hubby is the most fun-loving  guy I have ever met in my whole life.
We got him a Seiko wrist watch.
It's been years since his    old watch  has retired so  I wanted to replace it with a new one.
"You caught me off guard," was  exactly what he said.  I seldom  give him gifts  so he wasn't expecting anything lol.  Glad he liked it!

Scratch-n-Sniff

These are the treats that Ms. Burrito prepared for her classmates. We bought some pencils and scratch-n-sniff  mini cards.  We prepared it at my FIL's home when we visited last Thursday then she brought it in school last Friday.
Mr. Burrito grabbed this whoopee  cushion at the store when we bought the materials that Ms. Burrito needed.  We had so much fun  sitting on  this cushion  which make a fart sound.
My dark side, my shadow, my lower companion is now in the back room
blowing up balloons for kids' parties.
-Gary Busey-
We never had this in school when I was  a kid  so I  was as excited as her when we were preparing them lol.  I am definitely learning different stuff that I never got to experience growing up.  Thanks to my husband for making my life complete and above all, thanks God Almighty!

Studio Backlot Tour- Part 1

Hollywood Studio was the first  one that we  explored in Disney World.
The Studio Backlot Tour is a 35-minute thrilling  behind-the-scenes guided walk and tram ride that offers insight into how some of the most spectacular special effects in movies are made.  Our first stop was this one, the scene is suppose to be a stormy sea.  They asked some of the audience to participate , in return, they film the  actions hehehe.  After the  action shoot, they  let us view how it looks like on a movie.  It was pretty cool.

Please tune in for the second part of this exciting "wet" experience.
The second part will be posted  next time.

Expedition Everest

My husband and my friend's husband, tried the Expedition Everest at Disney World.  I don't think I would be able to  handle this  kind of ride wahhh.  My daughter on the other hand, really wanted to try it but her height  prevented her to.  Thanks to  sis Dhemz for taking the first photo.
She took the picture  above while I was taking the two photos below.
According to Wikepedia
"Expedition Everest is often compared to the 1959 Matterhorn Bobsleds roller coaster at Disneyland, which also features a snowy mountain setting and an "abominable snowman" figure throughout the ride. Expedition Everest is the tallest of the artificial mountains at Walt Disney World Resort, joining Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mount Gushmore, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Mount Mayday on the list of Disney-built peaks. According to Imagineering, it is Disney's 18th mountain-themed attraction."

We wish to go back in Disney World  in the future. If we could find a Cheap Flight to Florida for all of us, then it would be possible.
Traveling is one of the many things that my family love to do.

Carousel of Progress

One of the many entertaining  attraction in Magic Kingdom is the Carousel of progress.  The show is divided into 6 scenes with a audience seating sections located in a ring which mechanically revolves  within the  outer part of the circular theater building.  We went  to this attraction twice because there's no long line.
The photos below are not part of the Carousel progress as taking pictures are not allowed.  These were taken in  one of the rides in Magic Kingdom
These were taken at the bottom of the Splash Mountain log ride.
Wait, wait, who got  Ms. Burrito?  Just kidding,  it's the photo I took of our family friend with their   only  daughter Akesha and they have Ms. Burrito with them.
The Crystal Palace that I never went to see what's inside.  Another attraction that we did not   get to see is the  cone-shaped Mickey's Wizard Hat.
Have a great week ahead everyone.  Link  with me every Friday through Color Connection.  You can post any color that you like.
