Personalized Holiday Cards

Hello everyone! As you can see, I changed the theme of my Nostalgic Marveling blog into Travels and Wandering.. and the family's daily adventure. I want to start the 2012 year fresh and with new perspective. Leave all the unpleasant things that happened and move on with new hope, wishes, and goal.

With that being said, I am phasing out the Nostalgia  meme and this entry would be the last one.  I thank all of you who supported this meme all the way to the end.  You may still continue reminiscing the past through other meme with the same theme.   Below are the Personalized Holiday Cards that we sent out to family and friends last year and this year.  I apologize to those  friends whom I sent  regular cards because I ran out wahhh.  I thought, I have limited friends and as it turn out, I still have quite a few.
To thank you all for the wonderful memories we all have had sharing with each other's experiences, I am  giving a little thank you prize to all of you who would  join  this last Nostalgia entry.  The lucky winner will receive a $25.00 thru their paypal account.  This would be a nice juice to start the year for your  paypal.

So what's the catch?  There's none.  All you have to do is ask your friends to vote for your entry by leaving a comment on this post that they are voting for you.  You can leave a link or url at their site pointing to this post in order to vote.  It's very easy to join, just post anything that would remind you of the past Christmas or any experiences you have in the past.  Or you can  share  your thoughts about this meme.

You have until December 31 to collect  votes, the winners will be announced on the first day of 2012.  So  join the last Nostalgia and win $25 to be awarded thru your paypal account.  It's not much as I am not rich like others who giveaway hundreds and hundreds of dollars but one thing for sure, this  comes from my heart.

Get Modern with Eden Mosaic Tile

If you want your kitchen or bathroom  to look modern,  the glass mosaic tile would be a great option to use.  We were at the selection of glass tiles at mosaic tile last night at Eden Mosaic Tile  website.  Our new projects in line for next year will be  upgrading our kitchen and finishing to upgrade the  bathroom which we started this year but wasn't able to finish.  It is still a plan but  as early as possible we want to see  different options on which  is   an appropriate  material to use.

Eden Mosaic Tiles has a huge selection of beautiful  glass and mosaic tiles.  Browsing at their selection gives us ideas  which one would look great in our bathroom.  My husband does not like the color of the tiles that the former of the house  had installed.  They used  pink tiles with floral design to it so he wants to  change it into  a modern look.  This website  offer just that!

Beaver Valley Mall in Monaca PA

My husband and I had a little trip to a place we have never been last Tuesday. Our daughter wanted a green machine and it wasn't available to any store nearby here so we drove all the way to Monaca Pennsylvania just to buy it.
Beaver Valley Mall was on the way from Walmart where we bought the GM so we  dropped by and did a little shopping.
We did not have the kids with us so it was sort of a date for us weeee.
Beaver Valley Mall is  quite different from Robinson Mall, it was more organized,  not-so-crowded, and  we've seen  different kinds of deals that Robinson doesn't have.

Have a fabulous Christmas celebration everyone!

Jonathan Burdon

Hubby and I watched the early morning news yesterday  about the  unemployment rate in one of the States and the governor of that state  claimed that the unemployed rate  dropped down a little for this year.  He  said however that their goal of  creating more jobs did not  flourish as they expected.  Over here in our area, more and more  people have become dependent with  government welfare because of unemployment.  Some people opt out to look for a job because  of the notion that the amount they get from  the government assistance is  higher than what  they will make working.  I think that the government should limit who get the assistance to cut the spending budget for it.

But anyhow, Jonathan Burdon has just launched a resume page that you can check out if you are looking for a  good or well written resume to send out to some possible  employers.  Right now though, the said  webpage is being redirected to his  twitter page so I don't know how it works.  This  handsome fella can help a lot of job seekers if  the site  will become visible to the public.  So watch out for it, you may also follow him in his twitter so that you'll get updated with what is going on with his website.

Voyage

We did not get to see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid because the queue was very  long.  Going to Disney World was one  magical moment that we did this year not to mention that we met up with our bloggie fwiends.
We all had a blast during our  5 days get together.  Hope we could do it again  sometime in the future.

Flower-Designed Lights

We made a trip to the bank last Wednesday and withdrew some moolah for my family in the Philippines. We sent it via Western Union afterwards. It wasn't much but my siblings would be happy to have a little extra spending money during holiday season. I am thankful that we saved a little bit and that my husband is very generous to send them money every Christmas.
Anyhow, there are two of this flower-designed lights in front of the bank and it light up beautifully at night. My model was up for some photo shoot that day so I took advantage of it.
These last two shots were taken inside the bank. They have a very tall Christmas tree inside.
Thanks for visiting!

Shopping Here and There

We went to the mall today and  we enjoyed  the beautiful displays of every business establishments.  Everyone has their  unique way of  displaying their items  on their trade show displays to attract  buyers.  It seems that  during Christmas, no matter how difficult economy is, everone   goes shopping here and there for gifts.  It's the time of the year where giving is the  main goal so even if  people are a little financially short broke,  they still try  to get some for  their love ones.

Special Moments with Santa

We went to Wheeling last Saturday.  My niece-in-law holds a high position in H&R Block and she invited us  for their event.  There was Santa and the kids had so much fun doing crafts and other things.  The place is located at Highland Hills.  I was going to take pictures of  business establishments with W  because I have seen quite a few but decided not lol.  The trip from Weirton, to Wheeling took 45 minutes.
Ms. Burrito immediately talked to Santa when we arrived but Mr. Burrito  was scared.
Ms. Burrito and Haley  spent some quality time together.
Santa was so persistent  that he managed to talked  EJ into coming near him.
My niece-in-law's family.
Thanks Jen for taking us a family photo with Santa!
Gracie is always up for some  smiles in front of the camera and I always love that about her.  She;'s a real character hehehe.
Finally at the end,Mr. Burrito warmed up with Santa and let him Hold him.
He even cracked a little smile lol.  Good job there Burritos!  Our trip  ended by visiting two more other places but I'll share that next time.  I thought the long  drive was worth it because we got to spend  some long time with Santa hehehe.  I hope that next year, Mr. Burrito won't be so intimidated with  Santa's long beard lol.

3-Day Sale at Sprint

This post brought to you by Sprint. All opinions are 100% mine.
My daughter asked me if she can play games on my cell phone but I told her to better used the computer as it would eat a lot of my data.  I am glad she understood and did not persist.  I even unplugged the facebook  I have in my  phone because  it was consuming too much data.  I upgraded my plan after   a week of  using it because  it was on 65% usage already.  I was shocked.

On the lighter note, are you aware of the  3-day sale  that is happening at Sprint?  Yes, they started their three day event today and it would last until  the 14th.  So if you are planning to get a free cell phone, it's time for you to check out the Android™ powered EVO 4G devices selection that they have.    You will pay nothing  if you  purchase this online because of their  web promotion.  Sprint would also  ship it for free.  Ain't it so nice during holiday season.  The spirit of giving is really  shwoing because even the  businesses are giving the consumer great deals on  so many things including phones and other gadgets.  Get yours now at Sprint for a zero cost.

Pinterest

This guest post from Mickey Garza

Every night after my kids and my husband go to bed, I spend a couple of hours on Pinterest. Ever since we got CLEAR internet I have been obsessed with Pinterest. It is an online forum where people post different things that they like and I cannot stop looking at it. I love looking at different crafts that people have tried and easy recipes to try. I even found some neat holiday crafts to do with our kids. My favorite thing that I have found on Pinterest is different clothes that I can easily sew for our kids. I love unique clothing, and I have found several free patterns that people have posted on Pinterest that I can use with my own fabric to make it unique. I also like that Pinterest makes it easy to remember where I found stuff on the internet. I added a button to the top of my internet search engine, so when I am looking at a website that I want to remember, I can just pin it to one of my Pinterest boards with one simple click. I think that whoever thought of Pinterest is genius.

Santa's Charm - Nostalgia # 82

Santa's charm did not attract Mr. Burrito until this year. The first single photos below were taken last year.  We asked  the two to have a picture with Santa at the mall but Mr. Burrito refused.  He rather posed  with Mr. Bear  than with Santa lol.  Ms. Burrito on the other hand is always   up to it.
We went on the same mall in Steubenville Ohio this year and this time, Mr. Burrito  had the courage  to go in front of Santa, hooray!
Too bad, I did not have my DSLR with me so the photo is a little blurry.  I wasn't allowed to take picture inside the photo setting, so  this is the  farthest I could zoom in my  point and shoot Sony.
