Letters - Nostalgia # 46

Photobucket
I received a letter the other from my family back home. It made me very homesick, wish I could just drive going home to see them and be with them for a while.. sigh.

Anyhow, ever since I got here, I always  put away the letters that I received from them.  Sometimes, I read  all of it whenever I am homesick.  Believe me that even the  content of those letters are very disheartening, I still read them because it connects me to them.    Thes usualy communicate with me through cellphone texting but I still prefer their letters, I can save and read them over and over again.

I certainly know what you meant with letters.. Yes, reading them repeatedly and from their handwriting, it is as though you could see the smile, their faces and everything.. *HUG*,

Nothing can beat the old fashioned way of getting in touch. I've learned snail mail since I was in grade school but with the advent of the internet mukhang nakaligtaan na ng karamihan. Good thing you still prefer the old way, Rose.

Mid week hugs all the way from the Philippines!

I am the type who keeps letters too and I had tons of them back home. They are from friends, my penfriends when I was in grade school and from my late hubby. Di pa nakakasulat ang fam ko while I am here and I don't think they would really do it. With Facebook and Skype around, I don't think so. Hehe.

Enjoy your day sis!

Unti-unti na ngang nakakalimutan ang snail mail sa panahong ito, pero talagang sweet nga makarecev ng isa. Ganda ng sis mo Ate, pang model ang pose. :)

I hear you Rose. Whenever I received mails from Philippines, I always feel nervous to open it.

I too have some letters that I kept since I got here and some of the letters are very special to me especially from my grandmother who passed away like almost 3 years ago. Every time I read it, it reminds me of her and makes me feel like she is still around and I can feel her love. I miss her and it makes me cry just to think about it. Letters are very special indeed.

Yes, letters are more inclusive than just mere text messages for they convey not just thoughts but emotions and feelings as well. And you are right, you can read them over and over again for they are preserved and are not erased. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
